What things do I need to fully set-up my Acekard 2i?

The system I'm going to use is AKAIO. I've got a Nintendo DSi. My flashcart is an Acekard 2i.

I was thinking I need the following things:

Hardware

-Nintendo DSi
-Acekard 2i
-MicroSD
-MicroSD Card Reader

Software

-AKAIO v1.4.1 PROPER *Repack*
-AK2/AK2i loader
-Panasonic SD Formatter

###

What do I need more?
Can someone complete the list?

It helps to have a DS or DS lite at hand, in case there is another crippling firmware update on the DSi.

Otherwise all you need is a decent micro SD card (Sandisk, Kingston,...), and an Acekard 2i.

From the software you just need the AKAIO repack 1.4.1 & the 30/5 loader (don't use the latest one, because it breaks soft reset, and doesn't fix much). The panasonic formatter is not really necessary tbh.

And, what do you meant by the 'crippling firmware'? That's the Nintendo 1.4 firmware right? I already knew about that one.

But, what is the latest loader? I just go here: Link and click at 'AK2/AK2i loader'. Does that matter anything, or is it good? Also, about that loader. Is it absolutely neccessary to have it or is it not?

Technically the 1/6 loader is the latest loader for the AKAIO. However that loader only fixes some problems with Animal Crossing, but on the other hand it breaks soft reset, so unless you need the fix, get a 30/5 loader, which you can get here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=6106

Bootloader is the core of every flashcart , it allows the cart to bypass Nintendo's copy protection measures. Unfortunately Nintendo has released a new 1.4 firmware, which makes bootloaders of all carts unusable, until you update. So that's why you need an older console (or dsi pre-1.4), because you have to run a file to update the Acekard's bootloader to the 1.4 version.

TBH I never use cheats, so I can't really help you with the other question. I've just posted where you can find them.

But, when updating the booth-thingy, do I need 2 DS/DSL/DSi-'s? or, can I just do it with my own DSi (pre 1.4)?

You can use it with the DSi pre-1.4.

To Update:
DSi(with firmware1.3 or less) or a Ds LiteOr Phat
The acekard update file

Instructions:
STEPS:

Unzip 'AceKard 2i Update for DSi 1.4.rar' you will then have two files:

Updating via DSi use : ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds
Updating via DS Lite use : ak2ifw_update_14_DSL.nds

Copy the file to the root of the Micro SD memory card.

Place the Micro SD back into the AceKard 2i Card and insert into DSL/DSi Console

Select the Micro SD Card icon (from the main operating system on the AceKard 2i Main Screen)

Select the Firmware file ak2ifw_update_14_DSi.nds/ak2ifw_update_1 4_DSL.nds

Follow the on screen instructions (Press Start to update)

Complete!! You have a working AceKard 2i with DSi Firmware 1.4

Okay. I understand it now. But one thing doesn't make sense to me. Let me give an example: I've got a Nintendo DSi with an Acekard 2i. I've downloaded the AKAIO v1.4.1 PROPER *Repack* and putted it on my Acekard 2i. And then.. I have to use the update file. Or not?

You said that you need a DSi with a pre-1.4 file. But, that 'AKAIO v1.4.1 PROPER *Repack*' says v1.4.1'. Then, I already have the update, or not? Or, do you mean by 'pre-1.4', the Nintendo DS firmware and not the AKAIO firmware?

And also, in the youtube movie, I saw the guy using 2 DS'es.. Why? So I do need 2 DS'es?
