i was thinking of buying this one http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronic...rd/Product.html but im worried ill get it and then it wont work with the wii

if you are running roms with homebrew channel
you can use any sdhc I use an 8 gig works fine
but the regular wii can only read 2 gig standard sd

I think the wii can read larger as 2 gb as long as it isn't sdhc

No it maxes at 2GB (UNless the 4GB one I have is SDHC and doesn't say it anywhere on the card)

However the Wii will probably get SDHC compatibility down the line with a new update since the TT guys managed to get it to work.

There are 4gb standard sd cards, although they are new, expensive, low quality, rare, and hard to differ from poorly labeled sdhc cards.

It would be cheaper to get a 1gb sd and a 8gb sdhc.

i already have the channel installed from my 1gig and i just want a bigger one for my snes/megadrive roms

i found a 2gig sd card for £4 so i bought it as all my roms are less than 1.5 gig

Those work but you need to do this tedious method to get it to work with the Wii. Not TOO tedious. but it may require an hour at most (the FAT reformat). I would suggest the 133x speed one and read up on how to format for the Wii here: The Inclusive 4GB SD Card Workaround . I use this to store my RB2 DLC.

If you're looking for something for the Homebrew Channel ONLY, I would suggest getting an SDHC card.
