What is your first Fallout experience?

Mine was Fallout 3. I really liked the amount of detail the game has and the freedom it gives you once you're out in the wild, of course the wasteland was brutal at first until you reach lvl 10 or so, but it never felt cheap or unforgiving, it was challenging/threatening but the good kind of challenge. The locations/places/ buildings and the overall color palette was dark/filthy/nasty that represented the post-apocalyptic setting quite well..
So, tell us which one you played first!

Fallout 3. For as much hate that game gets, it does an amazing job at building tension and atmosphere with hardly any dialogue. In fact, 3's worst moments are with dialogue imo. I had a lot of fun just exploring and not paying attention to the story at all.

Same here. I like the way it makes you take initiative as you're exploring the wasteland at you're own pace , and without forcing you to follow its main storyline. Also, the karma system may seem unnecessary to some but i liked the freedom of choice it presents to the player.

I think the karma system is great, but playing neutral is always the best course of action given that good perk you get. Iirc it's like +20 speech if you have neutral karma? Felt like it defeated itself that way by always making you want to be neutral. I think new Vegas did it better with factions but I don't think karma was unneccsary like others do.

I started off with Fallout 1 and 2. I still can't say which style I prefer, but I do like the franchise as a whole--with the exception of 76.

I also started with Fallout 1 and 2, but never played a lot. They were VERY buggy, sometime you couldn't even complete the game.
I recently tried Fallout3 on PSNow. I don't know how far in the story I was. I reached the radio station.

Never played new vegas, or 4, 76 or Tactics (yet).

I also like the franchise, and its rich universe, timeline and events.

my first experience with the fallout series was at my friends house he was playing f2 but back then i didnt like it the setting was boring maybe that was because i was only about 6 years old but as f3 came out i was hooked

In the time of remasters, I would very much like to see a New Vegas option being available for eighth generation+. I have a PS3 I keep around just for that. My PC can do better, but it is such a power hog.

Mine was 3 too. It was interesting to me coming from Oblivion, given that they are two radically different games that both run on the same engine. I like how despite running on the same engine and being very similar games, they both have different enough gameplay elements that it doesn't end up feeling too same-y.

I think it would be nice having 4 on the Switch at least, alongside Skyrim. Probably never going to happen though.

My first Fallout game was 1. It has its bugs but from what I know its not as typically buggy as 76 nor 2.

Was it 2D or 3D? If 3D, It could've been FO3 as it's the one known for its gate opening moment. Metro 2033 is too linear and you don't exactly exit the metro for good as the outside is uninhabitable and you keep going back to your metro settlement after every other excursion/mission etc.
