Hacking What is the best CFW?

I'm sorry if the question is a little stupid. But I have been reading some guides and topics around here and since I'm getting a downgradeable Ps3 I want to start understanding things perfectly.

So I'm going to Install OFW 3.55 > CFW 3.55 and then some new firmware, right?

It seems, if I'm not mistaken, there are a lot of options to choose from, like Rogero, ReBug, Kmeaw to name a few. I'd like the board's opinion on which ones are the best and which add-ons are important/necessary (like game managers and etc). I'm only asking since the sticky is kind of unilateral and only speaks about one type. And it also seems a little outdated (albeit useful).

I always use Rebug, but I don't have any particular reason why to use that over Rogero, just happened Rebug was the one I went with when I was ditching my dongle, worked fine for me, kept going with it since.

I second Rebug. I was using Rogero, but Rebug seemed a little more solid to me and I wanted access to petitboot (OtherOS++ install).

I heard that Rogero is rushed.
Just a pushed update to bump your FW version counter up a notch (nothing against Rogero as I <3'd his 360 NAND build tool)
But Rebug takes a little longer before pushing out an update.

Devin recommended me Rebug and I never have experienced any trouble with it.
So I'd say Rebug.

REBUG 4.46.1 LITE EDITION with MultiMan 04.46.01 is all you need.
Disc in the drive and a big enough internal HDD and everything will run without problems.

Me BD drive is broken and I haven't had the need for an original disc in the disc tray yet.
But yes, you can just use any PS3 game ;]

I've used both and had no problems on either, though I prefer Rebug. Rogero's been warning he may drop support so I'd stick with rebug.

Not true. If a game requires BD mirror, the radio button on mM needs to be ticked in the game menu whether there is a disk in the drive or not.

Interesting. I'll need to try this when I get home. The only game that I recall that needs to be on the internal and required BD Mirror was DiRT, which I haven't played in several months.

Not true. It depends on the game. Some games need BD mirror even if there's a disk in the drive.

Yes you probably don't have any game that requires BD Mirror.

Try F1 Race Stars, Tomb Raider Underworld and Brunswick Pro Bowling for example...
