Ok i dont understand what the smb feature on mplayer ce does, i binged "what is smb" and this is what came up "SMB, which stands for Server Message Block, is a protocol for sharing files, printers, serial ports, and communications abstractions such as named pipes and mail slots between computers. "
i still dont understand what it does. so can anyone explain what it does to me in layman's terms?

In basic, it's what Windows uses to share files.
You can stream media from a server with SMB functionality. (This includes just a standard fairly recent Windows PC)
