but we're all lumped in the same category. what happens depends on if u move or copy the game. I already said that u wouldn't brick. the icon and text r for system settings not the home menu.

Well at least they baby us.
yeah cbhc now has protection against moving to usb or deleting it in memory management.

the only way to brick is format wiiu or unlink your nnid, 2 things people dont do often or at all, i never did any of those things to any console and i own every console :P

Haha touché...

A lot of us were concerned with CBHC, i was one of them, until 5.5.2 came up and i decided i needed to get Haxchi and CBHC. I was afraid my kids (10 and 3) would do something, but it actually is pretty safe to do. So i tried and everything is working perfectly , i have all my DLC for Mario Kart, SM4SH and everything else, so my kids can play with it.

Theres a lot of fear mongering going on with CBHC. That's because most of the bricks reported were from users who didn't follow directions or a proper guide.

We now have methods to fix those bricks.

Also, follow directions!

What happens if the DS game used for CBHC is updated by Nintendo (unlikely I know) and automatic updates are on. Brick or are there safeguards against it?

how do you update a VC game? lol i suppose there may be a way to update the emulator itself but that would require a system update

I believe the flaw lies with the ds emulator, not the games. the games come as a "rom.zip." that's the file name. they're nothing but roms. this is the file that's replaced for haxchi.

I'm afraid I've never looked for the ds emulator file(s) on the system. it's difficult to know what file does what since they're encrypted as .app a lot of the time. I think it would require a firmware update. however, the flas in the emulaotor could break things for legit owners if it's fixed, which would suggest that's the reason it wasn't with the recent update.

here's the exact description of haxchi (taken from wii u brew): The Wii U Nintendo DS virtual console emulator is vulnerable to contenthax attacks. In particular, the ROM parsing code lets an attacker perform fully controlled arbitrary write operations, which very easily leads to ROP and code execution, because these titles are among the few that have JIT capabilities.

I launch the app and:

He just says it's corrupt and advises me to uninstall it. (Omega thinks)

it will only re-launch cbhc. "dont touch me" means do not delete me or move me to an hdd
