Gaming What happened to SE's GamemakingGame ?

I just realized that Square Enix was WAY back working on a Game Making Game for the DS, to allow Users to create and share simple games on their own (without coding acknoweldge ?). Any news on it ? Haven't heard of it since a quite long time.

Hmm...how "way" back was that? Sounds like a really cool idea for a DS game, but I can't say I ever remember hearing about it.

Well, I wouldn't give up on it just yet. Square Enix is investing in some weird titles for DS. They've got their usual fantasy inspired merch, but then you see them publishing stuff like Space Invader Extreme (EXTREME!), Arkanoid and soon-to-be Snoopy DS, in a mad dash to cash in on the "casual" crowd (I surmise).

Sadly that's not the case, the president's cutting back on innovative games as they arent bringing in the same amount of money as another FF or Dragon Quest. Which is hideous, as i enjoyed WEWY more than any FF game.

I hope Nanashi no Game is one of them, I think the world has seen enough things based on the movie Ring.

I haven't heard any such news other than Square Enix considering liquidating some of Taito's assets. I wouldn't necessarily equate that to them cutting back on DS-game production. But who knows...
