yeah, you may want to apply 5.5.0 the spoof too if you have any games that require 5.3.2+ (main one being mario maker)

just try the "trouble shooting steps, (wiping browser cache or opening lots of content rich pages i.e facebook, google image search ...whatever) some wiiu's like lots of pages open, some like the browser to be baren and unused, it varies between consoles, so its just a matter of playing about with options until your wiiu is happy

mine is the same, doesnt want to boot at all, i just reverted back to one of the early versions which takes a bit longer to load the rom but teh exploit works 99% of the time. There is only so much plugging and unplugging of the wii U i am willing to spend time on

I prefer Linksys (or whoever owns them now. Cisco? ) personally. I've had nothing but trouble with D-Link and Netgear, unless they can run dd-wrt.

I simply went into a store called CeX. Asked them to see what fw their wiiUs were on. Traded my updated wiiU and bought their downgraded one.
