Hacking What flashcard to get?

A friend of mine wants to buy an oldschool dsi. I never got into the old ds's, can anyone tell me what flashcard he should get and recommend where to order it from? Many thanks.

Get a R4i Gold (r4ids.cn). Click on the "Where to Buy" tab for trusted resellers. I've always used http://www.dsflashcart.com/ and have no issues.

The r4isdhc.com carts are crap. Don't go with them, they include a time bomb that'll make the cart stop working unless you set the date back in a few years.

I use an R4i-SDHC 3DS RTS from r4i-sdhc.com, btw. Works fine, R4i-SDHC.com are cool.

The card will detect the system date and stop working after a certain time after the last firmware update.

It doesn't do permanent damage, if the year on your DS is set to 2019 or later the r4isdhc.com cart won't boot. You can just set the year back when it happens.

I've had a DS-Two since before I ever got a 3DS, and while it is great, I hate that it drains the battery so long as it is inserted in the slot fully, including when in sleep mode. I simply want a card where I can put it in, use my 8GB microSD, and forget about it while being able to play all (or most) DS games.
