Acekard 2.1 is your best bet, its like a great card, but im not sure if is worth for an 11-year old, no discrimination intended here. But overall the Acekard is great.

It doesnt work with DSi if she buys one. And in an 11 year old boy. I'm into complex options. I still chose AceKard 2i for me with AKAIO. and an iTouch2 for my 8 year old sister.

Use the search bar. The Cyclo DS evolution is the best, and you pay £35 for it, but you get your moneys worth. The cheap option is a Ak2.1 or a Ak2i. The acekards can be found on DX

For an 11 year old, I'd recommend an EDGE. They're cheap and provide the basic features. An Acekard 2 might be too complicated.
