If the sd card works in your 3ds, it will work for the guide. Also that is a perfect amount. And for the record, if you ever feel like you have no idea what you're doing, you always have this thread to ask for help.

Question #1 - Yes. Don't turn off the 3DS or close the lid. Pressing Select will (safely) unmount the SD card from your 3DS, allowing you to remove it while it is on. Just follow what the guide tells you to do and you'll be fine.

Question #2 - Yes. The guide won't tell you to do anything which could cause damage etc.

This exploit have to be on the Sd Card?
If I change the SD card, I will have to do all the process again?
I got the new3ds today, but is "clean" with the default 4gb card. I intend to buy later a 32gb or even a 64gb .
Other question. Its best to buy a class 10 SD ? A class 4 will run too?

You can change the SD card once you've installed CFW, just don't switch in the middle of the process.
If you want any games from the old SD just copy across the contents.

Nope, just leave it running/open. There should be a prompt on-screen to remount the SD card, allowing you to carry on with the guide.

Honestly i skip the extdata thing. It really isn't necessary, and i've never done it in all of my 5+ downgrades. Also, on tje decrypt9 screen, if you hit select you can eject the sd card while the system is on.

I have to use the FastHax? Looking on the 3ds.guide/ using my version (11.1) .(I'm reading all
steps before do it)
only uses :

• The latest release of Decrypt9WIP
• The latest release of safehax
• The latest build of svchax
• The latest fork of waithax

Fasthax is either unfinished or still being tested. The guide only uses the safest methods.

I'll have to do this often ? If nintendo release a new firmware? Or that CFW exploit it's like on the ps3 ? Only if I a new game comes with a updated firmware I have to wait a new CFW to play that specific game, while I can play all the rest (I dont play online, so I dont care much )

You'll have to do it once for each device. Firmware updates are safe if you use Luma, though the last one changed a file luma didn't test for and we had to wait a couple days for a fixed Luma.

Your CFW will be safe with updates, but it's ALWAYS best to watch here for a thread telling you it's safe to update just in case something is up (highly unlikely, but it's better to be safe than sorry). Hardmodders generally test first since they can restore NAND backups a lot easier than anyone without it.

Unlike the PS3, you can play your games without being on the latest firmware. You won't be able to go Online though (update nag) but offline/singleplayer will still work until you update the FW.

You don't have to wait for a new CFW version in order to play a new game (unlike the PS3). It's still highly recommended to update your CFW when updating your FW version (in order to patch out things Nintendo has tried to patch, or to fix broken things from the FW update) but it's not required like it is on the PS3.

There's a slightly different method for 11.2. Same story with Soundhax though. You can find a guide here. Read through the posts from others before jumping in though. From what I read, there's a high success rate.

This CFW can play downloaded games too? Like ds games on zip files , like a R4 ? or only in the Friishop?

CFW allows you to install CIA based games from FreeShop and other sites like "That iso site 3ds" (google it and you should find what I mean (can't post it - it's the top link)).

Freeshop just downloads the CIA format games from Nintendo's own servers instead of having you download/install it by hand. You can still download the CIA format games from that iso site and install them manually through FBI however.

With CFW, you can also play out of region games. If the game is in .cia format (so if the DS game, 3DS game or whatever is in .cia, then yes - you can use it. If it's not - then most likely no unless you can find a .cia version), you can install it via FBI (or Freeshop if it's in there) and play it.

Not yet. There's a few DS games that can run but not save, but you really still need a flashcart.

Just wait for 3ds.guide to be updated for fasthax
