Should I return my 5.05 system?

  • Yes, do it now!

  • Wait a little longer, 5.05 might drop soon!

  • Just keep it!

So I have a recently purchased 5.05 system here, and about 3 weeks left on my return policy. I also have access to purchasing a guaranteed 4.55 system on the table right now, and returning this system would pay for the majority of it. Should I return it now, and just pick up the 4.55, wait it out indefinitely, or hold out just a little longer before returning it to see if 5.05 kern drops?

We have no idea when they are gonna release the 5.0x exploit, besides, I wouldn't really recommend getting a 4.55 or 4.05 ps4 if you expect to play the game for several hours, it is just currently a kernel exploit, not a full CFW. Hen enabler v1 and v2 aren't perfect here and there, Holy Grail, v1 take more try to load and more stable than v2, and version 2, VTX-Hen is more stable at loading the homebrew at first but give problem when playing the game, causing freeze and crash.

That what got me frustrated into selling the 4.55 PS4 I have on hand.

If you lose no money doing this then its a no brainier so get it swapped!

Yeah I won't be losing any money really, I will have to spend a little extra for the 4.55 (what I should have done to begin with) but the 4.55 system is actually a nicer model, and guaranteed mod status, so it evens out, maybe even in favor of the 4.55.

The only thing that is really holding me back is it will be a little inconvenient to return the system I have in hand, and wait for the new one to ship, so I've been holding on to some hope that 5.05 would be out soon!

edit

I should also mention that I have another fully updated system on hand, so I'm not losing any functionality in the mean time, I can go online, and play the latest games without issue!

You just know that if you dont return the 5.05, you will never get a 5.05 exploit.

On the other hand if you swap to 4.55 a 5.05 could come out the next day.

If it was me I would swap and know I could use 4.55.

FYI @Hayato213 I am testing al-azif 0.4.2 webfiles (kernel/rop/syscalls/userland) as they seem to be rewritten slightly (im calling this new userland v3 here now and other rewrite v2) and are apparently more stable. I am putting together an updated SELF HOST INDEX pack with updated files but in the mean time you might find it Worth a test.

Im give it a try, Holygrail totally crash when I try to run it just by itself, I guess Kernel panic.

Try the HEN files in the 4.55 folder of 0.4.2. Its a new version forked from VTX, and has 5.51 spoof. @Leeful recons on high compatibility with that combo (v3 userland v2 all others, and henvtx5.51spoof payload)

@TheRealNGB keep your pro ,atm. i own 2 ps4s.
my pro is on 5.05, slim reg on the latest.

I'll offload my reg slim sometime later, i don't like the waiting game.
id prefer a full cfw, and i doubt that there will be any.

but if you care about homebrew/kex that hen loading stuff then wait it out, some kex will pop up sometime.
hold onto that pro.
