ROM Hack What do I loose if I hack my Switch?

I know that I will most likely not be able to play on Nintendo's online service, and that I'd probably get banned from the eShop or what ever, but what I'd like to know is if I can back up the games I have already purchased on the eShop, and can I back up their updates, along with the updates on the Cartridge games that I own? Further more, when I buy more games on cart, will I still be able to update them?

You'll still be able to get updates either by loading them on a seperate SD card that doesn't run a cfw or by downloading them from other completely legitimate sources....

As for the cart slot, I've never even opened mine, let alone used it. Maybe someone on here has. But I have no idea what you're supposed to do with it. /s Maybe somebody else will be more help there.

You will get banned eventually. If you use Atmosphere and don't pirate, this may take a long time. If you use ReiNX or SXOS you'll get banned right away.

As you know, this means no buying games on eShop and no multiplayer or other online services. Without eShop you can't get game updates. A simple console ban (what I and most others have) still allows for system and joycon firmware updates.

You can back up games, but I don't know how to do that personally. My Switch is hacked so that I can mod games. Originally I wanted mobile modded Skyrim, which alone is worth getting banned because it's awesome. Now I've got modded mobile Civ VI and literally if my Switch did nothing else I'd still be happy with my purchases.

Yeah, i got superbanned on my second day of Atmosphere because i abused the CDN to update the installed backups.

TBH, worth it. Before the hack i barely used my Switch, mostly to watch Youtube videos to fall asleep. Now i spend at least two hours on it, just finished Mario Odyssey and now on my way through Captain Toad!

If you don't care/play online, it's worth the hassle. You are still notified of game updated, and they are easily found on the internet the same day. The tools are easy to use and readily available, including GUI for them if you are not fancy with computers, anyway.
