What can you do with dummy hdmi plugs

Wondering if anyone has done anything cool with these. A project I attempted to do was use one with a SteamDeck dock and Citra. By plugging in the hdmi dummy adapter you could use the bottom screen as a touchscreen for lower screen Dual screen functionality then have a top screen via moonlight stream while making the device think it has a second display plugged in. Move the top screen to your big screen TV. Pretty cool theory but seldom worked I'm sure there are easier methods these days.

Far as I'm aware, the primary reason to have a dummy plug like that is to stick it on one of the onboard video outputs to keep the integrated graphics on, in the presence of a dedicated GPU. For instance with Intel, it made sense to do this because quick sync was voodoo levels of fast and quality encoding that not even dedicated gpu's could match for a long time.

Now though? Uh, I wonder... Maybe for running that Lossless scaling program, separate from your primary graphics card?

IIRC these can be useful for 'headless' systems where you want a default higher resolution to make it easier for remote access.
