so i bought that Assassin's Creed bundle. it had 6.20 firmware
ohnoes.png

it is completely useless after my friend gave me his PSP 1000. i installed CFW on it and bam, it's useless.
i could sell it, but probably in highschool. but seriously, can someone give me a simple update on CFW for 6.20 OFW?

if there are none, then i am probably gonna end up selling it.
since it is useless for me now.

Well you could act normal, buy the occasional game that comes along that really is worth the cash and use it as it's intended, and also it does have that HDTV port so you can stream to a bigger screen whatever you want to it the 1K can not.

i don't wanna be normal :3

woah half-byte loader... let me test that out !
i actually am only interested in emulating PSP games and GBA games on the PSP. that's why i bought it x].
hopefully this works !

EDIT: the screen just freezes. the instant i load the save file, it tells me to press any button. i press Right Trigger once, then i press it again. After that, the screen just freezes and nothing is shown but the Patapon screen.

I used to have an OFW 6.20 PSP 3000, but was lucky to get rid of it. The HB Loader only allowed me to run a SNES emulator (with problems - at half the speed), I read somewhere that the GBA emulator can only be run if you have OFW 5.50.
So there. It's a nice option to have but it does not compare to a fully customised PSP i.e. one that has access to kernel enabled. I strongly doubt (and all info I read on this topic confirms my doubts) that they will release a CFW for 6.20 in the future.

urr... i just took time to wait.

it says...
Starting HBL R92 "insert link"
DEBUG version
Firmware 6.2x detected
Building NIDs table
and a bunch of other text that has the word --success.
is it suppose to take that long?
now i have a black screen...

and yeah, i got OFW 6.20. i never even knew OFW 6.30 existed O_O.

EDIT: okay, now i am on the screen with the list of homebrew.
i loaded this version of the GBAemulator. but it says it is only compatible with 5.55OFW and under. when i load it in the through Half-Byte, it gives me a black screen then it turns the PSP off. if this doesn't work, then i might probably sell it since every other homebrew doesn't really interest me.

It was released just recently, that's probably why you didn't know, the thing is, 6.30 removes that exploit.

    Only Xbox I don't have is the OG, and One X model specifically, I regret giving my chipped OG model to one of my kids years ago, after later hearing he sold it to pawn shop, damn kids!

    I just recently picked up a n64 from a garage sell, and looking to mod it and add a HDMI port to it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3548173115...044&customid=4f3038da73b61afddf7e5e90f4153856
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I'd like to find a power strip and HDMI selector built in 1 unit, so I can select which game system I want, and will switch to that hdmi, and power on that plug/power supply only, so don't have all game systems powered all the time, but can't find anything like. May just have to make something myself.

    Maybe start a kick starter page and sell them, yea right. Big N would prob C&D me, not anything Big N related, but just because that's what they do nowdays. Then come out with they own in a year or so.

    @Xdqwerty, Nice. Which operating system are you installing?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, windows 10 and some linux distro like linux mint
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    dualbooth
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Yeah, I'd recommend having another OS just in-case you want to play games.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Speaking of which
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ,
    I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    @SylverReZ,
    I also recall my brother downloded a "non bloated" version of windows 11 on his pc

  • impeeza @ impeeza:
    @Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
