Hacking What are essential homebrew?

Now the the PS3Xploit was released, I'm sure a good amount of us has gotten their PS3 hacked by now.
I'm just wondering what PS3 homebrew is essential since there are no well written guides out that I can found for it. I'm kind of stuck with just the PKG installer sitting there and it doesn't do much since it tells me to verify the PKG installed files on PSN and such. A guide similar to Plailect's 3ds.guide would be extraordinarily helpful.

Install rebug. Then install rebug toolbox. Then open it and enable webman and once it is enabled go in 2 webman settings in xmb and then from there you can enable dynamic fan control with a temp limit of 65 wich is what i recommend. That's like the basic stuff

Those two places have lots of awesome homebrew apps. Nothing "essential" like on the 3ds other than multiman and rebug toolbox. Maybe even webman/webman mod.

How do I install plugins? I'm trying to install Ps3xpad using mamba but I don't get any confirmation that the plugin is running, and my Xbox 360 wireless receiver remains dead. Any advice?
