I can say that loading off the SD card is either impossible or will require a miracle.

ask nintendo i'm sure they'll help

You all seem to forget about TranslatIOS, which should be able to replace the files, even if there isn't an SD-Call. Great thing: SDHC Cards are also supported! Currently, there's a translation project of Fatal Frame 4, which will use that IOS...just as an Info...

@Main Topic: Gosh, explain better next time...I even didn't got it after watching the video

. But yeah, custom Levels would be realy nice, and would make the replay value higher...but I still haven't finished the game, so yeah...right now I don't need it.

Well this modified IOS is well a modified IOS. It would be nice if the custom levels wouldn't require any more system modifications than being able to run Gecko OS.

Haha, yeah, I haven't played NSMB yet so I never noticed what was so special about it

This is what TranslatIOS was made for, so yeah, it could be used for custom levels from SD/USB.

You've known about it when I was working on it back in, what, March? That's how old the code in that git is (I've since rewritten it again) >.>
Anyway, the goal of TranslatIOS is to accomplish just this, but be generic enough that it will work with every game. Use it or don't, that's up to you; but it's an option. Whereas an ocarina code has to be engineered for each game, and can often be incredibly complicated to pull off if, say, the game doesn't support SD at all. That would be more convenient, but TranslatIOS was made so that people don't have to worry about patching executables to do SD disc modifications.
Granted, it won't work all that well with your backups and such... But at that point you'd mind as well be modifying the ISO.

Well.. uhm ? Seems to me nothing special about the video. Maybe from a pc emulator or something that makes it laggy? You want us to understand, you can finally play it with emulator or something? O.o

He wants you to understand that the level is edited. That level does not exist in NSMBWii. I...didn't think it would be so hard to understand XD

Edit: Also, that TranslatIOS is news to me

I never thought about doing it at IOS level...Interesting.

Aside from that... I'm sort of mixed with surprise that this editor was finished so quickly and unsurprisedness that Nintendo didn't change much of anything about the way NSMBWii works compared to the original. If it ain't broke, you don't fix it, I guess.
Good work, Treeki

It's not seeing a release as of yet, but yea, that video is just showing what it can do in bare-bones mode.

heres a decent quality video

One of those someones was the video poster (and team), so no need to close a thread showing off the software? The Reggie Topic.

Don't know why this topic bugs so many people >.>

?Tanks you suck, just because it would be awesome to edit custom levels, that doesnt mean it............... is awesome......... GBAtemp is such a weird place. Wii owners are real babies, a guy uploads a vid of awesome Dev Work, and people ask for the thread to be closed and yell at the poster. LMFAO!! Theyre mad because theyre not quick enuff to figure it out. I dont think anyone got mad at wanin when he released his stuff. This place is fucking original lol Its a great discovery, but without a DETAILED explanation of why ppl should care, they just wont. LOL GBA WHAT? fail?

I would like to apologize the talented ROM hackers in this thread. You have to understand that people who use GBAtemp do not have the technical background they used to and may not appreciate the effort and significance of the development.

You're on the wrong kind of message board.

Oh hey, I remember having emailed you about NSMB DS hacking back when I was first starting on it in August 2007

Shows how far I've come I suppose.

And yeah, this thread really got a different reaction than I expected it to.. seems like it's apparently very hard to notice that it's a hacked level.

In any case, the Reggie thread has far more information and seems to have more intelligent posters in it.
