hello everyone,
i have slim ps3 and 4.81.2 rebug version. I'm using webman 1.47.05
i didn't change fan settings on webman and i noticed on games i can hear very low fan noise, to be honest it didn't disturb me, i can't even hear it with tv voices
but i wonder, will it effect my fans life time ? i mean if you know any better settings please share with me
thanks for all helps...

I am also (re)new to the ps3 hacking scene ever since I updated my 3.55 console beyond that version so many years ago just to play Gran Turismo 5. Anyway, my original 60gb launch ps3 is dead due to the red/yellow light of death because of heat. I purchased a refurb 60gb a few years ago and hacked it recently with the new exploit. Reading around the web, it seems that it's safe to set webman to "Dynamic Adjust" and set temp to 65C and minimum fan to be around 30%. My phat 60gb is hot and idles around 75C but thankfully with 65C set, the fan settles at that temp with about 35% or 40% fan, so it's not THAT loud with the game audio. Anyway, I think I will get bored and old of playing with this system before the fan fails. If the fan fails, then I think I can use my old one or easily order another one online.

Your slim models are supposedly MUCH cooler than my phat model, so you would be completely safe to set at 65C and fan speed minimum at 30% or so. It will help extend your system's life just in case some freak overheating occurs. Webman will try to keep it from going to 80C or beyond, in this case not going above 65C.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

So I would say set the maximum temp to a level you are comfortable with and you'll be fine.
