Weak HDMI Signal?

I have two hdmi splitters. all devices work except for the ps4. the hdmi splitter starts blinking like it's having trouble receiving the signal. however, the signal will work if the wii u is on as it won't be blinking anymore. I've noticed that some devices are strong enough to connect to automatically without the need to switch to its channel. the ps4 can't seem to do this. when I turn off say the wii u, I lose av signal from the ps4. it's almost as if the ps4 isn't strong enough (used another cable). the box (hdmi splitter) is blinking between two different channels. I've tried different channels and different cables, but nothing seems to work.

It's because the PS4's HDMI port doesn't push enough power to power some passive HDMI switches, not much you can do beyond getting an active HDMI switch, or keeping some device that can push enough voltage to your current one on

thanks, do you have any recommendations? I'm afraid of buying the wrong thing.

I think I've got. not sure what I did, but now it's receiving a strong signal with nothing else being on.
