Geohot etc. never do ANYTHING to directly allow piracy. Geohot included measures in his PS3 CFW specifically to avoid it.

Also, original poster, Geohot is not the be all and end all of hackers. He's A hacker and an attention seeking one at that. Just because he appears in the media a lot doesn't mean he owns the scene. Hell, he didn't do the main bulk of hacking on the PS3. He used other people's pre-established work (failoverflow) to poke around and find the keys.

From what I hear, his jailbreak blocks the app that allows piracy.

At least, that's what I've heard. Could be wrong.

I'd rather keep the 3DS unhacked for a long while yet, whilst the temptation for piracy is around, I'm a full-time student money isn't something I can throw around easily and I'd rather not resort to piracy I want to get away from that.

Besides, with games like LoZoT and Mario Kart 3DS and the possability of a Monster Hunter title on the 3DS I want to pay for these games!

iPod Jailbreak: No IPA installer existed. He never made one. Somebody else did. iPod jailbreak apps have become their own marketplace now and the basic stuff from that marketplace will not let you pirate.

PS3 Jailbreak: He deliberately blocked the syscalls for the backup loader used with the dongles. Somebody else had to edit the firmware themsevles to re-enable that.

even though i am into the hacking theory cause paying for so many great games that will be coming out its a bit hard
but i have actually bought 3 games for the 3ds so far
before i had my psp hacked with cfw i owned about 15 games
so not to be rude but buy your own games to support the makers for 1-2years then go to piracy if you want but dont make useless threads talking about "oh yes we need that person to hack 3ds"

I for one believe that no games or movies should be payed for other then for the discs they come on.
so the earlier the better for pirating, cause im not buying this until it is fully hacked.

Maybe you have no clue of what a Pedophile is...here in the States a Pedophile is the scum of the earth, usually are found on sex offender registry and accusing someone falsely of being a pedophile face to face would likely be met with a beat down of the highest magnitude...so yeah...it's kind of a big deal to be throwing that word around about someone you don't know.
