Hacking Wbfs modding ?

Hi,
I have downloaded a Super Paper Mario rom in WBFS
I was wondering in I can, by any issue, get into the code to change some parameters like HP or Level so I can cheat.
Any ideas ?

WBFS is a modified ISO (scrubbed and sparse) - you can convert it back then extract it (or "wit" can even extract it directly), if you want to mod the game

That said if you want "cheats" you don't need to bother, it's probably smarter to change the values in memory with Ocarina/WiiRD/"action replay" codes (which probably have already been made)

If you use an USBLoader to launch your game, look for the "Ocarina" option.
you have to enable it, and also download the latest cheat code list for the game. (it might not work with USBLoaderGX r1272; there's a mod of the loader to fix that problem. or you can find the cheats manually on geckocodes.org)

That brings up a question I have. The only version of USB Loader GX that I could get to work is r1272. I'm using a flash drive, and I realize that could be a problem (everything is working fine at the moment, however), but I don't have the $$ to get an external drive--so, it's flash drive for the time being. Can I get cheats to work with r1272? If so, can you help with that or at least link a good tutorial somewhere? Or would it be better to hold off until I get an external drive, which I assume would work better with r1271 and thus allow me to use cheats. Does that make sense? What would you do if you were me?

you have to find why 1272 work with flash only.
probably a IOS slot issue, so you should try to change the settings.

settings > loader settings > loader's IOS : 58 or 249 or 250


you better use 1271, as 1272 has some issues.
or use 1272 mod from blacb0x (link in first post of offcial thread) as it also work with cheat code download and fixes other bugs.

Just gonna mention Wiiflow, coz no one else has... you can download and apply cheats with Wiiflow. Might be a useful alternative to USBLoaderGX if you're having issues.
