I've just found the old HDD that I used to store all my Wii games on. This was wayyyy back when the drives had to be formatted in WBFS Format.

I just hacked the other half's Wii yesterday and I to my surprise, things have come a long way. I don't remember ever using a FAT32 formatted USB Stick, but it worked when games were installed to it using the 'Backup Manager' software and USB Loader GX.

So, will this WBFS Drive work on my Partners USB Loader GX? And what software can I use to see the games that are installed on the HDD? Backup Manager doesn't seem to be helping me much unfortunately.

Cheers for any advise!

Without deleting any of the games on the drive?

I mean, It doesn't matter too much if it's in WBFS Format anyway. I actually just found the old program I used to use which was AlexDP's WBFS Manager and all the games are reading fine through that.

Just wondering if USB Loader GX works with the WBFS Format now!

Hello.:)

Backup Manager doesn't seem to be helping me much unfortunately.

Cheers for any advise!

Wii Backup Manager ?
You maybe need an "intermediate Step" and it takes some Time, but it can help.

- please plug your WBFS Drive into your PC
(Do not Initialize or Format it !!!!)
- Start the Wii Backup Manager
- Copy your Games to your PC HDD or External HDD
- Format the old HDD with FAT32 please
- copy back the Games with Wii Backup Manager.

If that is the Solution you want.:)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

Totally get what you're saying but yeah, that's quite the long winded way of doing it, eh! xD If USB Loader GX reads WBFS Drives then I'll be fine to use it as is, that's all I'm really checking, thank you!

Thanks again, I'll check out the thread and see what's what. I could always just plug the drive into her Wii and try it next time I'm over there.

Cheers for the quick responses people!

short answer -yes, most usbloader supports WBFS drives.
If you don't plan to add anything to the drive, you are fine.
But you can't store anything but Wii games on it and even then, it is prompt to corruption (mainly caused by WBFS manager) and you have to manage the drive with third party software unlike FAT32 where you can simply manage with Windows, Mac or Linux directly.
