would it be possible to make an PC application that duguises itself as a DSi or 3DS so when you get the transfer app for 3DS through update it could transfer a homebrew app duigused as a 3DS ware or DSiWare game like an example PC application is downloaded to the PC then they load an app on to the PC application then select transfer to DSi or
3DS then go to system transfer then receive from the PC or through the Wii

sorry about the misleading title im not trying to troll BTW i hate trolls

As it has been said many, many times, the transfer app gets a ticket for the DSi Shop. Therefore, there is no need for a computer or Wii. That's why Sudokuhax will not work on a DSi. Therefore, you cannot transfer a cracked DSi app to a 3DS.

It needs to be digitally signed with nintendo's key to run.

EDIT:I sounded rude

EDIT2: Oh and the DSi shop will probably get an update to stop this happening.

we don't know enough yet about certain calls and checks it may do when transferring files between dsi/3ds to 3ds communications yet for some to even attempt it.
though i can't rule out the possibility of it, it's to soon to tell anything.

We need to know the structure and what not. It's not that simple. If that could be done, we would have done that a long time ago.

Sudokuhax workeed on the DSi Nintendo just deleted the software

Incorrect.
The transfer is done over local wireless and you'll need both systems.

To sign your own binaries (homebrew), you need the private key. Only Nintendo has it and you can't find it in games or the 3DS firmware, unless Nintendo made the same mistake as Sony (very unlikely).

This would be a man in the middle attack.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man-in-the-middle_attack

Since it's already over wifi you can sniff the traffic to see what it is. Since it's encrypted you have a bit of work ahead of you to firstly decode the stream, then even under that assumption then inject what you want into it in such a way that it's not detected on the other side. This assumes you've already broken the encryption scheme of the wifi tranfer, as well as how to make your injected code not fail the multiple crc and header checks already built in.

Basically the need to 'emulate' a dsi is not necessary since you can sniff the traffic anyways.

Can I just ask people who make these thread to preface the "way to hack" with a "IDEA:".
Not that anyone's expecting anything other than ideas, but that's what they are. Presenting them as anything else is annoying.
