In years passed they usually stop the ban wave just before the newest dashboard update hits. So maybe its almost over?

Or they just finish the rest of us off with the banhammer in one big swoop

Wonder if they are getting closer to being done with Ban Wave or it really will last till Christmas with them having one million banned, since they releasing the Facebook update next week...

I don't think there will be an end to this wave. I think that if you use ix (any version), you will get banned. I think it's just something that will be checked at startup.
Will ix Lite (forgot the name) be truely undectable? Maybe for a while, but this was said of the all the other ix's.

My Xbox was banned today. Its been modded, I haven't played it in 2 weeks and is unhooked.
Purchased a retail copy of Dragon Age: Origins and as soon as the game started to load I got the banned message.
So yes, even when playing legit games offline your console can be banned!!!

IF it will be checked on startup that's a problem, but i believe its when you play the game online.

Has anyone not been banned yet?

Yeah, I'm a pessimist. So as far as I'm concerned, everyone who has a modded 360 has always been flagged to be banned. As inevitable as death and taxes if anyone catches that reference.

There is nothing more to tell. Like I said, I hadn't played for 2 weeks as I've been away and its been offline all that time.
All I did was put the legit game in while offline and that did it, got the ban message.
I'm not sure how it happened either, as I was also under the belief that you are safe while offline, perhaps its a check in the new games coming out?

Let me get this straight, your saying you put in Dragon Age Origins and never connected to live at all? You're xbox wasn't connected to Live when you got the banned message? I somehow doubt MS could place a ban list inside every released game. That would just be overkill. You had to have connected at some point.

I think the ban signal can get sent down and applied upon shutting down the console, when I switched on one morning it didn't even attempt to connect and then when I tried manually it instantly said I was banned.

Got a call from one my friends: it happened to him. He got a bit lax on things towards the end though and did inherit a previous collections of possibly dubious games (this time around all flashing done with an xtractor kit, 360 was new as of this summer). He was not bothered up in the slightest though (primarily as he already has a PS3).

Finally time to sort out/set in stone our VPN I guess. Looks like I will be trialling http://www.wippien.com/ (something that should avoid the "normal" hassles of a VPN setup) at first and falling back to more traditional methods if not. I just hope BT and Virgin (our respective ISPs) can pull it off as I do not fancy explaining optical networking to the nosey policeman.

It does seem a bit dodgy as you would only know of the ban when you try and connect to Live.
I have just bought a new Elite and I am certainly not touching this one now. I dont care about this new ix LT, i've already been burned. Hey at least I can still play the downloaded games on the banned one.

I know microsoft are trying to make us pirates out as the evil ones at that we cost them so much money but you know what makes the company lose the most money is....Rentals and trade-ins. There's probs more people out there that buy 2nd hand games than pirates. When someone buys a 2nd hand game microsoft cant make any extra money of that, its gunna get to the point where they stop you lending games to friends too ust to protect thier monopoly.

Well, from what I've heard from my parents, he had a seizure last night, perhaps an epileptic episode, fucking died, had a near death experience, my dad called the paramedics, they showed up, took him to the hospital, and he woke up covered in tubes, and started complaining.
