Knocks: The thing to remember though is the SDHC hack didn't necessarily effect the read speed of the front USB port, only allows that port to read the larger SDHC drives.

There, fixed that for you.
Yes, the SD slot may or may not be faster than the DVD drive. It depends on the read speed of the SD port.

well, this seems like 1/2 or 2/3 of the battle is done...
USB 2.0......check
Backup "disk" launching via wad.......check
Needed:
USB .wad launching (HUGE)
Integration (These three separate apps combined into USB iso loader)

Nope. This is a different thing.

use this list:
CIOS with DIP module that reads data from iso from HDD .....
Program that allows you to choose which iso does dip use (or simply make dip read from usb://game.iso and use program to move/rename different isos to game.iso) .....
Program to execute .dol from .iso (or just hack systemmenu and use disk channel?) .....

USB 2.0 CIOS (way faster than 6x) + loading games without dvd That is the point. Jeesh people think things magically appear without any proof of concepts

You do realize that it's not just about speed.. first of all we need somethign better than that crappy FAT support.. NTFS or ext2/3 filesystems will be needed!
Many ISOs couldn't be properly scrubbed to go lower than 4 GB!

I wonder if it's possible to combine this with Nintendo's future update to load from an SD card. If it's an proper update and SDHC is enabled, this could be very interesting.

very true, 27,000kbps not fast enough? depending on the speed of your usb2 drive of course.

Ok, someone go write us libntfs, or use Linux way like GeeXbox file system support but using usb2, whenever the first USB Loader comes out, it will only support FAT I'm sure, and even then allot of devices won't be supported, and after that, maybe, just maybe end up with other file system types, maybe bootmii could help towards that. who knows.

The Problem with Linux is, that it should be a special Linux, only designed to support USB2.0, and NTFS, EXT, etc. Filesystems, and keep it damm small, so bootup don't takes 5 Minutes...

. But then, it would be the best solution, definitely. Even a nice GUI would then be possible... . Oh, and I think someone already did this, but the Speed was too slow... so I think there will be one soon..not a good release, but a release...

This + CIOS USB2 = Epic Win

This + cIOS USB2 = Epic Fail...compability with big HDDs are shitty on the Wii. Only Linux can make a big compability, and this would take forever to load...and what has the NAND with USB to do? They don't realy match, I think...

@Topic: Still don't belive that this is a good solution...Hamster Heroes is one of the smallest Wii-Games...maybe a bigger one would be better to show that it realy works...

Fixed video:
LOL at being slow USB 2.0 can load faster than 6x wii games......

What? Where have I said that USB 2.0 is slow? I meant that the Linux-Version would take forever to load...

@Blue-K: You absolutely don't need Linux to access an ext3 hard drive ... there are drivers for Windows and a lot of embedded systems out there. Writing one for the Wii is easy as shit, since ext3 is open source.

Knock yourself out.

am i the only person who think he needs a bit of practise at the game?

Who cares how good or bad he plays the game. The important thing is he managed to run a game from the NAND
