Guys I'm new here..

Anyway regarding the -4100 error it's probably a bad burn.

I initially burned Battalion Wars 2 on a unbranded cheap 4x DVD+R disc, gives that error.

Then I tried burning on a 16x Imation DVD+R, loader manages to read the game, but crashes with a green screen.

Damn, wasted 2 discs..

Anyway my wii is an unmodded D2B on 3.2U, image burnt on 4x with LG 20x LS burner

Battalion Wars 2 - Does not work, freeze at green screen.

Any body know why the backup createor says "could not get partition title key" when i try to create partition.

You have to have the following files in the same folder:
  • backup-creator.exe
  • common-key
  • name_of_your_backuped_game.iso
You "patch" the .iso by right clicking it, selecting Open With>Choose Program... and then selecting backup-creator.exe by pressing browse. The only thing that could cripple you then is loss of hard drive space or some program interfering with the patching process.

If the aforementioned won't work, some people clicked and pulled the .iso over the backup-creator.exe file and got it to work.

I am using a PAL Wii, any ideas why two out of two of my tested games appear flickering with a triple-like signal, like the video mode was wrong?

Pool Party hanged at the first Loading screen,
Classic British Motor Racing seemed to work fine.

Except both had this flickery sensation.
Any ideas?

Okay, Boom Blox NTSC on NTSC console does not work. Boom Blox PAL works on PAL console. Does that mean Boom Blox PAL works on an NTSC console?

I have the game by the way, great game, I'm just wondering about other games. Say Super Mario Sluggers might work if its PAL, NTSC doesn't work for anyone.

YAY! Force unleashed booted up and currently its loading. As I said before, I burned it with nero at 4x, using PAL version of the game, NTSC wii and NTSC TV. Ok, its black and white...will getting component cables fix this?

Okay, just registered and just tested a game:

London Taxi: Rush Hour (PAL) (ZRY/Scrubbed) - ISO is ~200mb, burned at 4x on an ELGIN dvd-r. Playing just fine on NTSC Wii 3.3U. Booting is fine, and the "Loading..." screens takes a while (about 10 seconds). Played for an hour and it didn't crash. Also, using composite/regular Wii cables. Colors are fine, too.

Note: not worth playing. I just downloaded/tested it because it is 70mb compressed, LOL.

I ran the PAL ISO through regionfrii and changed it to NTSC and it worked with color. I'm using a NTSC Wii on NTSC TV with standard AV cables. Firmware 3.3, D2B chipset unmodded.

EDIT: This was burned with Nero at the lowest speed, 1 or 2x.

I believe you need VGA cables. Refer to the first post to see which NTSC games worked with which cables.

Care to give instructions how to burn it with Nero? Any special settings or just the usual clicks of the mouse?

The -4100 error seems to occur when booktying is not set to DVD-ROM. You need to be sure that you are using the same media as the media you have changed Booktyping for. Shange booktyping for DVD+R to DVD-ROM and DVD-R disks will still burn as DVD-R not DVD-ROM! Alot of drives do not allow you to change the booktyping of DVD-R disks so the current preferred media is of course DVD+R burnt at slow speeds.

Did you use the iso patcher or the regionfrii first, and didn't you use brickblocker aswell? I would appreciate it if you could post the order you did all the patches in.

Pal Wii/3.2E/composite cable

Cooking Mama PAL/DVD-R memorex@4x : works perfectly.
Fast (relatively) loading, it works even better than mama!

Does the speed at which u BURN the software, writespeed, really even matter?i thought it was the read speed of the wii that mattered..

My friend just tried changing a NTSC copy to PAL with regionfrii but it still didn't work for him. He is using HDTV and component cables. Maybe you need the actual PAL iso?

waninko:"The driver is not finished, nor the source code (needs to be cleaned, commented, remove shitty code, etc.). I was going to release the source (as it is licensed under the GPL) with the backup-loader binary but now I'll have to release it when I have it completely finished (except you want a very shitty source). Also, it's not my fault that the guy who leaked it didn't release the source too. EDIT: If I have free time tomorrow, I'll release the first version of the source (I don't like to violate the GPL)

ok happy, but we got a shitty source code faggot who leaked it

A summary of what I have noticed..

NTSC users seem to have more success with PAL games than own NTSC region ones.

NTSC games seem to need a Component HD connection if they work at all.

DVD+R discs will only work on already chipped consoles, on non-chipped consoles the booktype setting needs to be set to -rom ...otherwise error -4100
Can't you just get a NTSC game and convert it to PAL to work better on a NTSC console?

I believe a source code is better than the actual build because that gives people a chance to code the application in a better way than Waninkoko ever would or could.
