Certain modchips do this. Like the Wasabi DX with the Zero clip.

Most (if not all) "drive chip" modchips like the Wasabi Zero play backups at 6x. The "drive cable" modchips like DriveKey and Wasabi DX play backups at 3x.

The Wasabi DX with a Zero clip and updated firmware functions as a Wasabi Zero.

this is good i mean think about it this helped all older consoles with the dvd-drive loading hole
in the fw that team tweezer tryed to warn ninty about now finally fixed in newer dvd-drives
but not from usb which is still good for some people...

But i wouldnt be surprised if wan makes a new dip plugin that will enable disc loading on those
newer d2 or d3-2 nothing whatever it's called drives where disc loading from softmod is so
called blocked that would be interesting.....

1) WiiGator wrote the initial DIP-Module.
2) Waninkoko left the Scene, he only wanted/wants to update the cIOS, not more. And honestly, with releasing the source, I'm not shure if he'll still work on it...
3) And forget that about the D3-2 Drive, there will NEVER be a solution, because it's a hardware problem, which can't be fixed in any way with SoftMods. NEVER!
4) This is no good for Nintendo? With the Source it should be even easier to create a protection than before for them...

Up to now Nintendo has never gone this way. They are only in overwriting cIOS' with stub IOS'. I don't expect them to change their anti-piracy measures... look what they tried with HBC; deleting HAXX if found — seriously, this is the most crappy idea that they could find.


However I hope the source code will not result in 200 million new cIOS. Some collaborative work would be good.

Pretty amazing, we can finally get a fully nand emulated system menu, like sneek was. Whatever happened to sneek? I haven't been on or seen a lot of gaming scenes, but the wii scene has to be the best.
