They will be backed up in the vwii (slccmp) partition of rednand, but they can't be used from there, and getting them out would be annoying (downloading via wupclient) if possible today at all...

But if one day we can write a NAND backup into SYSNAND, then I guess all the vWii data that are on Rednand will be useable again, right?

Likely: the dump is believed to be correct but I don't know if this has been ever proven!

And of course, you can backup the saves right now using wiimode homebrews!
