I want to hack my switch but the volume buttons are broken so i can't boot into rcm. Nintendo's repairing is down b/c of corona..

Should i try repairing it myself, or is there any way to get in to rcm otherwise?

my power button still works. Does that mean that the entire part is not broken? (the part for power and the 2 volume buttons is the same)

i'm thinking it might still be connected to the power but is removed from the volume

pop the emmc chip up and boot the switch and it will boot into RCM mode, then you can pop it back down and install AutoRCM.......but obviously replacing/fixing the volume flex would probably be a better option, but it might be a nice temporary solution while you wait for a new flex if simply reseating the cable doesn't fix the issue

    Dam that's a real bummer :(

Not that i recommend it, but have you tried open the console to see how it looks inside?

just lift the mini pcb near the heat pipe where its connected to the motherboard, you don't need to remove the whole thing, just lift the one side and you will feel it become detached, turn on the power with it disconnected and you will be in RCM mode, you can simply press down on it again to reconnect it, and as long as you boot into a RCM payload that allows touch input you should be able to install AutoRCM fine without needing to press the volume buttons
