This does not convince me at all... that video could EASILY be fake.
really just saying "i made this, here is this video of just the wii screen, with me updating it, not showing the console or anything, oh also i won't release this"
We have seen so much of this shit... and to be honest, theres a small flick once the update ends.

Until we see a real video sowing him inserting the dvd and doing every step on his own, this video doesnt prove anything.

Waninkoko is pretty well respected, and has made a lot of good programs. Why would he want to give himself a bad name for releasing a fake video?

Waninkoko confirmed on ElOtroLado that this method works, and uses Trucha. And also specifically said that they're NOT going to release it.

At least for now.

hah, who cares if he doesn't release it there are fully compatible emulators that run on the Wii anyway, it just proves that he has nothing if he refuses to show anything.

Exactly.

He makes the duplicate channels remover, the IOS version patcher, and all the sudden he starts making fake videos..I don't think so..

Virtual Console Hackeada!

PREMIER!!! PREMIER!

So! Although unable to believe what their eyes reading this, has already been Hackeada Virtual Console, or rather ... A channel for the Virtual Console.

This is just the beginning, we may even have to be corrected details, but has been able to channel a copy of the original game and virtual console has been installed in another Wii through a disc truchado.

There are no further details at this stage as this test phase.

Here is a video installation, which enjoy it.

PS A special thanks to Waninkoko, because without such things as never could have been done.

Thanks Waninkoko are incredible, and continues to champion.

Saludos!!! Greetings!

Agreed.
This has got to be easier than expected though so i'm positive that we will see a release. If not from Waninkoko then someone else will figure out how to do it. It may be as easy as inserting the VC game into an update and editing the update to just install the channels with the inserted VC games and Trucha Signing it. (hopefully)

Yep.. the current state of emulators are much better than the VC games.. since you can play whatever the game you want, and not just the ones available there

Also, I won't waste a DVD on a NES game either..

Just use DVD-RW.... Also VC games are Wiimote and Classic controller compatible. And Wiiware games should work aswell.

Pretty cool proof of concept, that's some nice hacking. But it's not really usefull. One game takes 1 channel this way, your menu will be full in no-time. It's better to wait for full wii-mode homebrew emulators (running from the sd slot, or a bootable dvd). There already is an early version of such a SNES emulator

When you download a VC game it also takes up 1 channel for each VC game

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
