So he has to do a region change before a loader will work? Why's that?

Also, he already TBR'd the thing a while back, so I'm not sure if that's the issue.

all korean wiis that i moded cannot play backups even if you installed the loader and the cios. when i region changed them to US thats when when they starts to play

custom ios installed successfully
after i re-trucha it
still no go with back-ups

how do i change the region? please

trust me, you don't want to do this with a wii on 4.2. Unless you like large white shiny paperweights/AKA brick.

my advice, stick to USB loading. Quicker loading and easier. save money on DVDs too, lol.

that's a different thing, region changing a korean shit needs a different approach. i don't say you need to use ARC. ARC don't support koreans.i still don't have a guide cause i never encounter one. take this advice install preloader first before you do anything.

i have a guide for 3.5K but thats a different thing, i won't recommend that on 4.2K

you guys he did install cios rev 14 and hermes rev 4
you guys look at the spoilers

he has a d3-2 drive
so only usb loaders will work

preloader .30 ?
i just tried to install and it failed
got root!
unable to read ticket.. aborting install

is there anyway to see what drive i have or do i need to open it up
the console is chipped if that helps i forgot to mention

dont know
im just about to open it up to have a look

The Mrs won it at work it was already chipped they were "testing it out" and updated it to 4.2k

try to update the chip first for it to be compatible on 4.2k . anyway if you really need to play your backups on disc on neogamma. you still need to change your wii region.

no luck with updating the chip its a sunkey lite
and it looks the drive is a D3-2(nothing)

so to change the region would i need to first replace IOS70 with IOS60v6147
then install a 4.2U/E system menu?

or am i asking for a new door stopper

don't region change its useless
just stick to usb loader

don't do something stupid or you'll end up really hitting the jackpot!...

You people obviously do not realize what happened.

A virgin 4.2 Korean wii successfully
got the trucha bug restored
install cIOS 202 222 223 249 250
installed homebrew channel and bootmii

it's a d3-2 so it gives the error -1101
so what many wiis give that error
USB loading will always work because the cIOS is present

i dont have a USB drive to hook-up to run a usb loader
bootmii has been installed as an IOS

now if and its an if at the moment i was to use dop-ios mod to install IOS60v6147 as IOS70
and then say installed a 4.2E system menu if it went bad would i be able to use bootmii installed as an ios
to repair it or is that a no go?

sorry for all the questions im just really keen on changing the region

Edit:
just managed to install preloader .30
but i had to install .29 first

Cool, cool...

Nice to see that works on a KOR Wii...

Did you make a backup with BootMii? Make one right now, after preloader. In case of a brick you dont have to go through the hassle of installing everything again...

Make a backup now.

Then try your region change.

BTW, do you have a GC controller? In case of a brick you´ll need it to restore your Nand.

i was only able to install bootmii as an ios, yep i have an el'cheapo gc controller

just tried neogamma again after installing preloader and it wont load just freezes with black screen
if i brick will bootmii installed as an ios save me?
