Hardware view wbfs without fat32

I made the mistake of ripping all my games with my wii without creating a fat32 partition 1st. Is there any way to view them in windows without re-ripping everything? Maybe thru linux on on the wii thru sd explorer.

Sorry for probably not being of much help,(I haven't really gotten the USB loaders to work yet) but I would think you could use ftpii if you just choose the correct storage source or doesn't the WBFS format work with it? Also, you can use disk management(run:compmgmt.msc and go to Disk management sub-menu) to shrink the volume you've already made and create a new FAT32, but not sure if this will help after you've backuped.

BTW a noob question: How does creating the FAT32 partition help reading your files on the pc? I've read that you can(voluntarily) create a circa 1GB FAT/32 partition on your backup hdd, but I thought this was only to store images/covers and alike.

WBFS Manager has the abilility to save a game to an ISO from your WBFS partition.

FTPii seems to be out of the question then, but just moments ago I tested ozguy's way of transfering your backup and it works fine. Just remeber to choose "extract iso" from WBFS manager

Note: Tried it with a 4GB MicroSD in adapter with Tiger Woods 08.

Second question...

Can i create a second partition on the usb after already installed the game..

Got my 320Gb hd filled with 200 Gb.
At this moment my sd card is acting up so i cant install anything tru SD..

So i want an extra partition om my USB DRIVE already filled with games....

All the partition managers i know won`t read the WII format and therefore can`t partition

WBFS partitions cannot be resized at the moment. Nobody has written a tool to do that.
Only way to change the size is to delete the partition and then create another one with the size you want.

I set up my drive so that I have a WBFS partion and a smaller 20Gb partition for fat32 files. 20Gb is plenty for now.

Correct, it will not work (I am not sure if it will even allow you).
Any tool that does not understand the WBFS has no idea where files are or how to tell the partition its new size. So simply changing the size of the partition will break the file system.

u can get windooze drive letters for wbfs easily

actually there is no need to format as fat32 and then as wbfs
the fat32 is overwrittern anyway
what is not overwritten is the partition type in the partition table
if u set this type to fat32(0c) by other means windows will let u set na drive letter
i dont know why this isnt integrated into the manegers

i dont know if there is some windows tool for this

as u mentioned linux u can do it easily there
any partition tool should let u do it
try cfdisk if u dont know any (do "man cfdisk" for a manual)
set type to 0c and save

Connect the drive to your PC.
Right click on My Computer and choose Manage.
Go to Disk Management.
You should be able to see the WBFS drive in there. It will probably show up as UNKNOWN.
Right click that area and see if you can give it a drive letter.

"0c(fat32)" works, "da" does not
