Gaming Video on PSP

does anyone know how to put video on the PSP, i have tried converting my video into MP4 and put it in the Video folder it still doesn't work

You need to convert to 480x264 MP4 video in h.264 encoding. Its quite specific. Find a converter that has ready made settings for PSP

there are already a couple of threads here on gbatemp on this, however you can download ripbot264 from doom9.org which is a great little program that will convert your video files to the psp format

PMP player? It only plays PMP though.

Honestly there are quite a lot of programs to do that.
I already tested some but so far but the best IMO was PSPVC (http://pspvc.nswardh.com/) for some reasons.
Just be sure to have CCCP and it's quite easy to use.

Can it convert .mkv with subtitles?
