Is it MPEG-4 format?
I`m using a program to convert, simple to use just click the litttle psp icon and it does its magic.
I put the file into the folder named video
It shows on the menu but it keeps giving the message "this video cannot be played"
I`m I doing something wrong

The videos have to be put in here

E:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01

replace e with the drive of your PSP.

Tried this also, I can`t locate the video from the PSP menu (do I look under Video, Memory Stick)

Super Converter - Looks nice, Thanks

Is this the proper file type...... MPEG-4 Movie (.mp4)

Maybe the program I used didn`t convert it properly?

iunno if it matters... but will just say it.

I own a PSP 3000 atm. It is currently at the latest OFW [6.20].

The video format it uses is MPEG-4 Movie (.mp4) so yeah, it's that format. Then on your Memory Stick, you locate the root of the Memory Stick. You create a folder that is named "VIDEO". Then you just drag and drop all the files into that folder.

It will look like this if you were to show where it goes:

E:\VIDEO
^Then all the videos go into there. For me, it is the same thing for music.

E:\MUSIC
^ that's where I put all my music in their MP3 format.

Yeah thats the first thing I tried, didn`t work.
It will show the little icon and video name on the PSP menu but will not load/play

Yes I did the Music the same way, no problem.

I guess I will play around some more?

Maybe the size of the video is incorrect? My converter re-sizes the video to 320x240 [which is not fullscreen] or 368x208 [which is fullscreen]. I can choose which ever size I want.

If you are wondering what converter I use, I use the "FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter" by Aone Software. It may not be the flashiest converter out there, but it does the job the best for me.

OFW sucks for video playing
sony limits the resolution (about 2/3 of the maximum) and the bitrate (don't know specifics)
sony wants you to buy UMDs not convert your dvds

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
