Hacking Very dumb question regarding H/C

Hello, due to the fact me and my girl have a drive chipped wii and the people here seem helpfull were looking into modding her wii a bit more (seems like a good idea with all these updates ect)

Anyway i've managed to install the homebrew channel Beta 8 from the iso, but nothing will load? I mean i can go into the channel and there is nothing there all that happens is a small picture of a planet flashes in the bottom left hand corner. I guess its trying to update but we dont have the wii on the internet yet

I've put some apps on out SD card but H/C never finds them (basic apps package from the H/C site) so we just have a nice screen with a few bubbles atm, have i done anything wrong or what would be your best guess to fix it?

Well first of all, get the latest HBC. It's beta9.
And applications should be in \apps
\apps\snes9xgx for example. Then HBC will find it and display it.

AH! silly us works fine now, the H/C site said "extract files exactly as they are onto your S/D card" the file name was "hbc_apps"
