Hello,

I am struggling to make myself a clean collection of PS3 and X360 games.

Verifying PS3 games seems easy. If we are lucky we might find a 100% 1:1 copy of the game, that verifies with redump.
Or we can verify the JB folder with a IRD library, then create a ISO after that. It won't check with redump, but at least we know that the files are not corrupted, and it is, in fact, a untouched rip, it just doesn't have it's encryption keys.

But, with XBOX360, it seems that there is no way, or people don't really care, and this really drives my OCD nuts :D
I can't seem to find untouched XBOX games, or any way to verify the integrity of the games. Scene releases have their BIN files patched.

Is there any way you guys do this?

There are no xbox360 dumps on the redump.org website, at least not visible to the public so not many will care. Also it's pointless to dump optical media for xbox360: almost every game can be installed and, for digital preservation purposes, you should use an rgh console so you can install every game on the hdd (although some of them, like Halo 3, could have slowdowns). Games in GOD format are better, use less space and are all region free (because an RGH console is not region locked). Also a lot of games for Xbox360 are in digital format only so, for a complete collection, you should go for God format and redump doesn't care about digital-only.

Closest you can come to a "clean" dump is verifying it with ABGX.

If it passes the stealth checks then it's almost good as 1:1.
But yeh, 360 has its fair share of digital games and in the latter part of its life, games saw digital releases before physical ones.

"and this really drives my OCD nuts"
What is being driven nuts or indeed why do you care?

Will it matter to future consoles looking at backwards compatibility? Will it matter to future mods? Will it matter to future ROM hackers? Will it matter to people investigating game content? Will it matter to future emulators?
An ABGX360 verified game is no on all counts so why let it bother you.

"I can't seem to find untouched XBOX games,"
Hopefully you did not mean original xbox there because that is a whole other field, and yeah that gets hard -- Scene releases (which were all that really mattered) were often file by file rip as opposed to iso level (though things eventually moved towards that) or even said files messed with to save space.

@DinohScene thank you a lot, I found out a couple of days ago about the ABGX, it was exactly why I was looking for.

@contezero there are Xbox 360 dumps on redump, they are not available to the public yet. Also, what does it matter if it going to be on optical media or HDD, my question was how do you verify the integrity or corruption of a dump.

I am driven nuts because I don't know if my backups are good. simple as that.
it matters to my because I can verify the integrity of a backup.

You got that right. Some backups or scene releases have missing files. That is what I am trying to avoid.

Some scene releases, that actually work (i guess), do not pass the ABGX library verification, and that thing matters for some.

Thank you!

if your game crashes (and you're on an rgh), you'll usually get a fatal crash intercepted message. it will either kick you out or shutdown the system depending on which thing you have enabled in dash launch.

I don't play my 360 at all anymore, but in most cases a crash occurs when booting the game, at least as per my experience. I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think I ever encountered just some random crash midgame.

btw, xgd2s are always 7.05 or 7.29GBs iirc with lots of padding in a lot of cases. I don't know about xgd3 as I had a jtag at that time when games like that were being released.
