it support 1080P output but not 1080P quality

Simply put those devices do not make the wii 1080p, they merely stretch 480p to 1080p and some apply an additional filter to blur the edges... So instead of a crisper image you may actually get a worse image.

I use it on a beamer and the quality is much better than analog signal.
