Is there a way to take a VC game and put on your SD card in the original rom format?

(Example: I take my Super Mario World game, use the software, and on the root of my SD card there is Super_Mario_World.smc)

Yes, if you have a decrypted CIA, you can extract the RomFS and a file will be somewhere in there, you will need to manually change the file type to smc though

Why not just download the ROM from somewhere? Seems like unnecessary work.

If you want to support Nintendo, you wouldn't use any emulator at all, heck, you're not supporting Nintendo just by signing up to this site

Uh, that makes no sense, but ok. You'd still be supporting them by purchasing the game even if you downloaded the ROM from elsewhere.

Nintendo. It's actually been proven they took roms found online and simply packaged them inside the VCs they sell. Many of the NES VCs have the same identifiable headers as the ones found online. Evidence. Still, I agree that they should be purchased from Nintendo instead of downloading. Nintendo has more rights to download those roms than we do.

Considering how old the games are, we have the same amount of rights as they do to download the roms

Mm, no. They're not in the public domain yet and are still intellectual property of Nintendo.

Things don't reach public domain until after 70 years of the copyright. Unless Nintendo pulls a Disney we still have 40+ years to go for NES and SNES games.
