I tried this version and the japanese one, and I can confirm that Japanese gammers are really hardcore when it comes to fighting games. I got my ass handed almost everytime .
Then I switched to the NTSC-U version.... easy as cake (yeah... the rest of the world sucks at SF2 lol)

it is the first VC that game that has wi-fi through i think every game that has mutiplayer on Wii shop channel should be patched to have this option. but that won't happen...

I installed the Japanese version and it was slow and kind of glitchy, I hope this one is better until I install the PAL version :/
