Homebrew vba save game help

hi i've been playing on vba v1.8.0.603 but i wanna make some trades using the link function and realised that this version does not have it.
i downloaded vbalink 1.8.0.600 but being an older format, it could not read my save game(65kb).

is there anyway i can get around this problem? either by converting the save game or using another application?
