You all might think this is ridiculous, but I sent an inquiry to D3 Publisher. I wanted some answers so I asked.

On their JP Website, there is an "English Support" section which was extremely helpful. I filled out my info and hopefully since the game isn't technically older than 10 years, I might get a response.

Alrighty, I have some good news.

Apparently, lolichan195 said that there is a Chinese patch of the game and they are going to try and use that as a base edit thing.

I'll get back to you on that.

You can have a look as well if you want. Said patch is quite literally a Rosetta stone for you unless the hackers went overboard and started adding loads of their own content.

Pull apart the original game and pull apart the patched game. The names, directory structures... should be the same. There are then a thousand different tools that will offer to compare your files between directories and see what has changed.

I managed to find this page.
It seems like point 2 is saying, the team who originally hacked the game disappeared so the project was suspended.

But the comments have people asking for download links, so maybe someone else picked it up? I couldn't find any working download links, but maybe it provides more ideas of where to look?

Hey guys lolichan195 here, just wanted to ask if anyone is able to help out with this or even tips, i have tried a bunch of things (i come from hacking vitas and psps for fun XD) but this is something i really want done but its just super scrambled in my own opinion and i havent found the chinese patch yet, as well i have other things im working on and just being busy with school as well, but i will TRY to at least get some done

I can try looking on Baidu, which is the search engine used in China. You can try looking there.

Having had a look on Baidu, that seems to be the case. (I found links to a Chinese VK game, but it's a fan-made game, not DS, so I think that's where the confusion lies.)

More digging, and I also found this. I think it's the people who were originally working on the DS patch, saying they were unable to figure out how to crack it, and asking others for help. It's come full circle ^^'

So, I don't think we will find any more answers on the Chinese side, it just depends on what we can work out here. Maybe if we can show demand for this translation is still very much alive, we might be able to inspire some of the very experienced hackers to help? Although I'm sure with their specialised skills, they must be very busy too.

But, we can't give up just yet!

I think that is a great idea. jjjjewel and someone else who was working on the game haven't responded, which is quite upsetting. ;; If you know any good hackers or know a place that isn't the dark or deep web then please let me know!!!!

So I went to the link that Ghost sent me and they couldn't seem to figure it out either. Maybe if someone decompressed it, then maybe... if I find the decompression tool, then I could try decompressing it and see what I get out of it. Wish me luck!

I was talking to some people who said that I would have to find each kanji symbol individually or something like that and I was wondering if anyone was willing to show me how to do it so that they don't have to waste time on it. If I did it, then I could (hopefully maybe) make small progress on the game. It's a start....

Also, in DesumNE, the .arm9 bin is loaded into the game (which is how I got my encoding table). This might be helpful to someone....? If not, I might manually look up the kanji which will not be good for me but whatever. >< I can say that I tried.

Hey guys just a small update, because of how much schoolwork i have atm, i wont be able to work on this for a few weeks.... and another thing is that the emulator has stopped working with my pc that i work on, i may have to use another one but hopefully i can fix it up b4 i have to swap

And yes, we released the finished patch yesterday. I'm so happy, it's been a dream come true for me I can't wait until we can (hopefully) say the same thing about VK's English translation!!!

Hmm i think ill need to compare the data fron BB and VK to see how alike they are but im glad that at least one person had their dream come true
