I am having trouble getting this working. my WiiU and vWii are freshly modded (CBHC). WiiU and vWii each have their own 2TB mypassport drive with y cable. vWii drive with Ustealth formatted by WiiBackupManager on the upper back port and WiiU drive on the front. WiiU backups are working fine with both drives . vWii only loads games with the WiiU drive unplugged or else UsbLoader GX complains the drive is not initialized. if I move the vWii drive to the lower back USB port the drive will initialize in UsbLoader and GC games launch fine but Wii games blackscreen and lock up and I have to pull the power to the console.

Seems like something simple I am missing.

For now I will just unplug the WiiU drive to use vWii but I would rather not have my kids messing with it.

is this related to the ios58 + AHB posts above?

Hello,

Just try this:

You can try to change the charger IOS (USB gx) put 249:
USBLoader GX - Parameters - Global parameters - Parameters of the charger - IOS 58 of the charger -> 249 and result?

Thanks, I got it sorted out. I had to switch the vWii drive to MBR from GPT. I assumed WiiBackupManager took care of that when I formatted the drive but no. WiiU, Wii and GC all working fine now!

Hello everyone, please, tell me how to compile USB Loader GX with Ustealth support? In the header is a link to the old version, but I could not find a new one with support.

Hi I am currently using uStealth with my vWii (Micro SD to USB Adapter) and 2TB HDD External Hard Drive w/ Power Supply for Wii U.

I am also using the latest version of USB Loader GX r1272

I have the vWii MicroSD to USB Adapter in Port 0 of my Wii U and the 2TB HDD in Port 1 of my Wii U.

USB Loader GX can detect my USB Adapter whether it's hidden or not. However for some reason, if both drives are plugged in at the same time it says USB Drive is not initialized. If I unplug my Wii U Drive it then recognizes the USB Adapter. Even when I replug in my 2TB HDD after, it continues to function properly.

Why is this the case? Is there any fix for it? I really don't want to have to reach around my TV and unplug and replug my Wii U Drive everytime I want to use USB Loader GX. Keep in mind I am always plugging my Wii U Drive into Port 1 of my Wii U so shouldn't it be invisible to USB Loader GX anyways?

Is this a problem on the older versions of USB Loader GX? I don't think the newest version would be the cause of this issue since when the Wii U Drive is unplugged from Port 1 it can read my USB Adapter in Port 0 regardless of whether its in hidden state or normal state.

have you tried the wii u drive in the front ports? that's how I have mine set up. the wii u is in the front two ports and the vwii hdd is plugged into the back port. that hdd is the only one that's powered.

I can't really set it up that way since my gamecube adapter is hooked up to the front ports. Looking at the thread history it seems that another user had the same issue as me but he has resolved it? I checked and my microsd card plugged into the usb adapter is formatted to fat 32 mbr

UPDATE: Problem dosen't arise when using Version R1268 linked in the original post. For now this will do, might just try using cfg loader since I can have everything on my sd card and just use 2tb hdd for wii u

Hey guys, I used Ustealth a bunch in the past and It worked flawlessly. I tried it again with the same HDD as usual and now it's at "UNKNOWN" in the Status column and I can't unhide it. I'm using Ustealth R8 under windows 10. The drive still works fine on the wii u. Please help.

Thanks for the suggestion. It says the device is not compatible :/ It's weird because everything works fine on the wii u.
Well ... it turns out the hard drive was formated by the wii u at some point ... that's why it showed up as UNKNOWN in UStealth :/

I'm not sure if this is even related to ustealth, but who knows...

My USB HDD isn't detected by anything on vWii unless I unplug it on the vWii menu and then reconnect it. Once reconnected, my loaders detect it as normal. This is the same whether it's ustealthed or not.

Long story short, I have to disconnect and reconnect the drive each time I start vWii. If I don't, vWii won't detect it at all. Is this a known problem with certain drives, and are there any workarounds?

EDIT: I've confirmed that this has nothing to do with ustealth. My USB HDD just has the drive initialization issue (apparently this is common with newer drive controllers) and only initializes properly with IOS58. So for anyone searching this thread for the same issue, what worked for me is using USB Loader GX, going into "Loader Settings" and setting "Loader's IOS" to "IOS 58". Also, it does NOT work from the forwarder channel, only when launched from the Homebrew Channel. And finally I had to disconnect my Wii U USB before powering on. This was the only way I could get it to detect the Wii drive without reconnecting it at the vWii menu.

Tried using this tool to hide the External HDD, but the status stays on NORMAL and doesn't change to HIDDEN. Any idea why?

I am new to this. I modded my Wii many years ago but just modded my Wiiu. I have it using CFG USB Loader. I took the hard drive off of my Wii and use it on the Wiiu just fine. However I cannot get ustealth to stick. I hide via the application and it drops the drive from the list. When I hook the drive back up to the Wiiu and power on I still get the format nag. What am I doing wrong?!?! Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I just compiled WiiMC today following this tutorial* as I also wanted to be able to use WiiMC with UStealth.

I modified, or more accurately, removed line 570 of fileop.cpp as suggested by Cyan and got rid of a couple of brackets as there was no longer an if statement. This gets rid of the MBR Signature Verification. Hopefully this is sufficient and I haven't caused a bigger unseen problem. I have tested it on my Wii U, however, and everything seems to be working so far.

Here are the compiled boot.dol and boot.elf. Once again, I'm not sure if I made some mistake making the necessary edit or in the compilation, so use these at your own risk. I haven't done anything with code for probably five years, so it's a distinct possibility. However, following the tutorial I linked to it should be possible to compile your own modified version, even for someone not familiar with development environments.

Good luck, and if anyone decides to use this (besides me), I'd be very interested to hear if it works.

Would you happen to have the recompiled version? I searched everywhere but I can find it, and the links to do it myself no longer work. Would be awesome if you could post it again.
