Hacking Using EZFlash 3in1 with Acekard 2i

I know it has built-in support for 3in1 compatibility, but I have a few questions in regards to it.

1) Does it have a built in patcher for GBA games, or do I have to patch my games first?
2) Does it automatically back up save files on the microSD to prevent losing saves as a result of battery problems on the 3in1? If no, how can I do this, is it possible with only the integrated support?

1) built in patcher
2) i'm not certain but i think the saves are stored on the 3-in-1 until you reboot back into the acekard, then it moves to the microsd card
