Homebrew Using again my O3DS since months. What steps should i follow?

i have an O3ds and i was using it with a gateway card. I want to use it again but i am so confused between gateway or Luma3DS. What are the advanteges of each method and what steps should i follow if a want to install CFW.

Use Luma3DS. Follow 3ds.guide

Use Luma, not Gateway. Gateway can't be used over 11.2 and there are many risks to avoid if you don't want to brick or render your console unhackable.

use a save manager to back them up, like jksave manager, save data filer, or a third option.

i was reading this thread https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ but i'm not sure if i have to install first Luma3DS to be able to use jksave manager right?
