My external HD went kaput a while back. Was considering picking up a 32gb flashdrive for the time being (only $18.00 this week) since I don't play a ton of console games and the ones I do play will fit on that space. Question is, is the lifespan of a flashdrive considerably shorter due to the Wii constantly reading the game off of it (say with daily or every other day use) would the flashdrive last a considerable amount of time (over one year) or should I just bite the bullet and get another external HD?

flash drives get worn out with each write and erase, not by reading. so as long as you dont keep changing games waaaay often it should last considerably longer than a normal hard drive, and even so, usb flash drives are more relaiable than a mecanical hard drive, if you dont need huge amounts of space a flash drive is your best bet n.n
