I'm about to get my OLED switch Moded. I was wondering what are the risk of getting banned if I keep my legit stuff (games I bought from store or cartridge I own) on my sysNAND, and play other games on my emuNAND?

Just to be clear, I don't plan on installing shady homebrew like tinfoil and I don't plan to hack online or anything.

This question was answered a million times, regardless of anyone's use case circumstance. The point remains, any console/account has a possibility of network ban if Nintendo detects unsigned code, legit or fraudulently found... they don't hesitate when unsigned code has been found. You now having modified your Switch, have increased your chances. We all carry the understandings of the risks involved with modifying consoles, and your use case circumstance is no different from the next.

It's been asked a million time, but it doesn't really answer my question. Of course there are risks, etc etc. But anyone got banned for going online with clean sysNAND on a modded switch. I'd like to see some testimonies, like : "I have been using a modded switch for 2 years, going online only with games I bought and a clean sysnand, no ban"

There is testament to that very example, and also there is testament to complete OFW consoles/accounts that get banned. All things are possible.

I play mario kart online on my clean sysnand and so far so good (4 months). However, I am also aware that I might get banned if one day Nintendo decides to change the way they ban people. Does that answer your question?

By modding your console, you are taking this risk. Of course at the moment having emunand that blocks connection to Nintendo is safe but its' not a guarantee.

The absolute safest option is to have 2 switches, 1 clean, 1 modded.

Yeah, that answer my question. I know there is always risk. I just want to gauge how low/high the risks are.

Mod it and accept that you will be banned at some point in the future when Nintendo implements a new way to detect people using modded switch.

When it does get banned, get a new switch to play online. Keep your banned switch for offline play.

That way, you keep winning until they ban you, then you buy another switch for online play. You'll have an unknown jail-free period. If you're lucky, you might only get banned after switch 2 is released.

Sounds good?

Running clean sysnand without cfw is safe. Had an unpatched v1 for years, used sysnand to play those free to play online games, 0 issue.

Running clean sysnand with cfw is risky, depending what you do in cfw. I used cfw on my unpatched for a few times to backup game saves for cartridge games, wasn't banned for it.

Installing title/tickets on sysnand with cfw is an instant ban. Modding your profile picture is an instant ban. Save modding depends on the game, in acnh it will usually result in a save ban not console ban.

So if you just want to play online with your legit eshop/cartridge games without cfw, it's safe.

Learn ways to avoid getting banned is easier than understand why/ what makes you banned.
4steps to get your protected in 5min, compared to hours of digging why got banned
what are those 4 steps/ways please ? genuine question. I dont have a switch (yet) but pretty curious
