I seem to recall that the PAL version of Little King's Story only supports 50Hz and won't work when forced to another video mode

You can play the NTSC version, which also has Spanish language support and they also fixed many bugs from PAL game ^_^
I love that game

usbloader_gx plugins mod, most code from wiiflow and use gemini ai finshed!
On the surface it looks neat, but the AI created some issues.
  • The Select Plugins menu overrides the Select Game Sources button behaviour.
  • Controller shortcut buttons conflict with general UI navigation buttons e.g. holding - or + with a Wiimote should always scroll in either direction for the grid, carousel, and banner view types.
  • It breaks drive reinitialisation for games.
  • It adds a debug logger even though the loader already contains one (gprintf via gecko).
  • Legacy themes can't use plugins.
  • Cover art doesn't scale well and there's some overlap (shown in your own pictures too).
  • The patch adds an unnecessary Java app.
  • The patch attempts to replace the font with one that's larger (because it supports Chinese?).
Basically, you can tell that it's not a normal part of the loader because it doesn't integrate correctly with the loader's existing options. For example, it overrides and conflicts with button behaviour, ignores some settings, and doesn't allow you to configure a custom view type that lists a mix of plugins.

That said, it at least looks visually better than the older fork with plugins, and you shared patches, so that's an improvement over your previous attempt :)

My main focus with this USB loader is game compatibility and enhancements above all else, since that's what 99% of people care about. Other homebrew games and apps can already be launched through the built in homebrew launcher or via SRLs (Single ROM Loaders) that are installed to your NAND or an EmuNAND. That said, I may eventually support "plugins", but if I do, my implementation would be different from WiiFlow's.

If you run it, I’ll try to push this branch (plugins_mod)to GitHub.

Freeze when exiting GameCube games launched from USB Loader GX (vWii)

Setup:
- Wii U with Aroma; vWii set up with ModMii (d2x v11 beta3 cIOS 248-251 for vWii, "USB Loader" IDCL v14 forwarder channel)
- USB Loader GX r1283 and Nintendont 6.508, both on SD
- GameCube games as CISO (2 MB blocks) in sd:/games/Title [ID]/game.ciso
- Controller: licensed Hori Classic Controller Pro (Bluetooth)

Problem:
When a GameCube game is launched from USB Loader GX (Nintendont Auto Boot ON), pressing Home, or B+Z+R+Down, freezes the console. Holding the power button does nothing; I have to pull the plug. Happens with every game I've tried (Mario Kart: Double Dash, WarioWare, Crash Nitro Kart).
A single press of the console power button exits cleanly to the Wii U Menu - only the Home / B+Z+R+Down exit freezes.

What I've ruled out:
- Return To: same freeze with Return To blank (should auto-pick the IDCL channel), set to the USB Loader GX channel, and set to the Homebrew Channel.
- How USB Loader GX is started: same result launching it from the channel or from the Homebrew Channel.
- Wii games launched from USB Loader GX exit fine (Home > Wii Menu returns to the Homebrew Channel, per my Return To setting).
- The same GameCube game launched from Nintendont via the Homebrew Channel exits fine (Home returns to the Homebrew Channel).

So it only happens for GameCube games launched through USB Loader GX. From the source, my guess is the return stub USB Loader GX sets up for homebrew boots (BootHomebrew.cpp: loadStub() + Set_Stub(returnTo(false))) doesn't survive Nintendont's exit on vWii, since the target doesn't seem to matter.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or is this a known issue? Happy to provide logs.

(the above post written by claude, which has been helping me troubleshoot.)

I’d like to know if there’s a way to get USB Loader GX to recognize the Wii U Pro Controller or the Nintendo Switch controller as if it were a Wii Pro Controller; that would be a huge step forward.

I'm at my wit's end here trying to play Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories. At the beginning of the game, after talking with the park ranger, going back to the guesthouse crashes the game. Every time. I have tried everything.

I'm using a clean dump, and my drive is formatted at 32kb clusters. I'm using default settings. This is a PAL game and I have a USA Wii, but Region Patch is enabled. I've looked online and haven't found anyone else with this problem. Can someone please figure out what's going on here?

Works fine for me, USA Wii with default settings (no region patch), external hard drive 32kb fat32 and clean dump. (i read somewhere that the game has problems with 64kb cluster but this is not the case it seems, also some people report graphical errors, simply reset the game via home menu or the physical button)

I reset Loader Settings and Game Settings to default, and that seemed to fix it. I then enabled all the options I had previously enabled one by one (video patches on, region patch, force NTSC480p, deflicker extended off, framebuffer) and couldn't even recreate it. I have no idea what caused it in the first place, since every other game I had worked perfectly fine.

Running 4.0 r1283 on an original Wii. It downloads Nintendont fine but always fails to download wiitdb.zip within the first MB or so. Is this expected?

Can anyone help me out here. I gone through every video, post, faqs, ai suggestions and not seen this issue. So far ive spent about 20 hours trying to get this working.. I’ve really tried.

Ive modded my Wii. Got homebrew, usb loader, installed wads.

In USB loader, when I click on a game, it loads the screen when you can click game setting or start; this page has NO music or banner image for the game selected. Then if I click start either the screen returns to homebrew or I get a ‘exception DSI occurrence’ different for different games. I've tried about 15 wii games.

IMG_7082.jpg

Note: Gamecube games work fine and play in usb loader, it is just Wii games.

I have gone through the process of modding 3 times and then going through the process of returning the Wii back to factory settings. Each time the same.

I have a 16gb SD formatted correctly with MBR and the correct allocation.

For the games I have tried using the same SD card, an alternative 64gb SD card, a 8gb usb flash drive and a USB 128gb ssd. All formatted correctly. The same problem occurs regardless of storage devices.

In usb loader in the setting both 'loaders iOS' and 'game iOS' I have tried 249 and 250.

I used tinywiibackupmanager to load the games onto the drives. I got the covers on the Wii through the internet connection.

Ive installed wads with yawme and d2x on different occasions. The problems are the same.

I also tried wiiflow which also got the exception error.

Im using a black normal Wii with a built in Wii motion plus inside controller, no nunchuck connected. The Wii is 4.3e

Any thoughts very much appreciated.

Your syscheck report is correct.

Check to see if your SD card is write-protected.

Try a fresh install of the loader, remove/rename the apps/usbloadergx folder something else and copy it over fresh, obviously the latest version by blackb0x

Also can you share how you're launching gx? Try directly via the hbc and make sure that's working before launching into it via a channel or priiloader.

It's probably not the case, but also make sure the sd card has free space

Thanks for the response. I've gone through the whole process 6 or 7 times. The zip file for usb loader says 1283 which i presume is the latest.

I'm launching by clicking on homebrew channel then choosing usb loader from the list.

The SD card has 13gb free as the last time i attempted this i only copied 2 games to test. One gamecube and one wii (previously i had copied over numerous different games onto the various different drives i tried).
