Okay like the thread reads, I recently picked up a used Nintendo DSi (Light Blue model.) that had firmware 1.3U installed. I just upgraded the firmware but not before flashing the system memory so I had a fresh system. But anyway, looking into the DSi system it reads I have 1000 DSI points available, part of the initial promotion they apparently held. Thing is, unless it doesn't show up the system doesn't have a Club Nintendo account linked to it. Tapping on the Club Nintendo settings brings up the option to link an account to the DSi. So I'm sort of confused here, does that mean the system has an account registered already? The DSi points were added 4/23/2009 (A promotion.) and the only software ever installed was the Opera Browser. I've thought about just using the option to erase the DSi shop data from the system but if there actually isn't any accounts tied to the system already I'd hate to waste the free points. Currently the system has 1.4U firmware installed and prior to format only the Opera Browser was installed to the system.

it means that the previous user never logged on to the dsi shop (opera browser comes pre-installed i think

you need to link your own account i got a used dsi sytem to recently and got the free 1000 points.

yes the points are linked to the dsi, not the account

I wasn't sure if I should use the delete option or if there was any connection like the Playstation Network and account balances. Guess I owe thanks to the previous owner. Funnily enough before I had wiped the system's memory I loaded up the Opera Browser. The only previously viewed pages were porn links and WoW private servers. Anyway, I just need to figure out what to spend my free DSi points on then...

An anime convention called "Sakura-Con", it's held in Seattle, WA. There was a booth for a company called Monster Gaming there that had it for $130. The system appears barely used save for some barely visible scratches on the touch screen, a tiny ding in the lower left corner of the outer casing on the edge, and another light white scratch on the back near the battery compartment. Other than that there's no visible damage anywhere and it included the original stylus that came with the system. Even better is I had a light blue wrist strap I got from my EZ Flash V long ago before I had lost the cart which matches the system color. So now the strap actually looks like it belongs with the system. Overall seems like a pretty good deal, Gamestops in my area want $139 plus tax for used systems and mine cost me exactly $130 and not a cent more.

And if it helps, the username of the DSi's previous owner was NIGHTHAWK.

EDIT: Hehe, I even managed to register my DSi to my Club Nintendo Account and got the 160 free coins with it. And apparently, the system is still covered by a warranty (Now extended to 90 days.) it's just a shame I don't know where/when it was purchased or have the warranty info other than the model ID.
