quick backstory, so recently i bought a Wii to play some childhood games but i always had the recurring issue of my 32GB USB not being detected. USBLoaderGX would freeze at the "initialize usb device" and with WiiFlow, the USB option wasnt there at all. Nintendont was the only one that detected the USB so so far I've played Gamecube games. So after some digging i fixed the USBLoaderGX problem by changing the loaders IOS but the games wont show up! After inspecting the USB ports they look good compared to an older one. Please help me

What I've tried so far
- format the USB to NTFS and FAT32 multiple times
- swap the USB in the 2 different ports
- reinstall IOS58

if a Syscheck is needed, just let me know!

EDIT: heres the full syscheck

Hello,

do not use USB keys, they often give a black screen and your Loader does not load.

Prefer an external hard drive for better connectivity.

Yes post a syscheck report, for control.

Hello,

Reinstall your cios 249 on base 57 v10 beta 52, because it is installed incorrectly (you have version 10 beta 53).

No USB keys, prefer the DDE.

In the parameters of USB loader gx change the IOS 249 by 58 and relaunch usb loader gx.

What i meant by that is in USBLoaderGX 3.0, in the Loaders Settings there are two places to change the IOS, Loaders IOS and Games IOS. I managed to fix my previous problem of it getting frozen in "initialize usb device" by changing the Loaders IOS to 58 but i can only seem to manage changing the Games IOS to 249 or 250

what do you mean by "your cios are not ALL installed" ?
he doesn't need ALL ! he only need ONE. following bad and outdated guide will not help him fix the problem.

he had this :
IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta53-alt): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
wrong.

and now this :
IOS249[57] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
good !

his loader's setting is good too:
loader's IOS : 58 (fine!)
game's IOS : 249 (fine! you can't use IOS58 for games, you need cIOS for games!)

now games will use d2x r52 base57, and the loader will use 58 to init/mount the drive. nothing can be better than that.
Having additional IOS with different bases in other unused slots will not help. USBLoaderGX uses only ONE slot, there's no need of installing multiple cIOS.

it should work correctly now, except if he uses Flashdrive instead of HDD, or uses a HUB instead of plugging the hdd directly to USB Port.

seeing he had issue detecting his drive even with Wiiflow (reputed for being better at detecting drives than USBLoaderGX), I think his problem is his drive, not his setup.
unfortunately, not all Hard drives are compatible with the cIOS or the Wii/WiiU.

@Cyan

I meant the CIOS 250 which is rev 20 (old version, it seems to me ??).

@ton-ton

In my opinion, it is your USB support (USB keys) that does not work.
As Cyan also said ==> it should work fine now, unless it uses Flashdrive instead of a hard drive, or if it uses a hub instead of plugging the hard drive directly to the USB port.

do you guys have any re-partition software that could be useful? i was unable to find any unused USBs or HDDs around so im thinking of just making a new partition since this was the same USB i used before for Wii games that worked smoothly

yes, it's oudated, but not used by USBLoaderGX.
only one IOS is used at a time, the running app doesn't care what other version you have in other slots.
his 249 is already base57, he doesn't need to be in slot250. I now even tell users to install base 57 in 249 to be easier. nobody need base56, and nobody need 57 to be in slot 250. loaders are using slot249 by default, it's best to just install the best base in default slot instead of installing it in a non-default slot and explain the user how to not use the default (weird, right?)

most guides tell users to go 249/56 and 250/57, then users have to change their settings to use slot250 by default.
Modmii is now installing base in the same slot than me (249/57) to make things easier for everyone : users and helpers.

hey guys, USBLoaderGX still didnt work so i tried using CFG Loader instead. It worked like a charm but i only have one more issue, it only detected 3 of my games (Smash Brawl, SMG and Wii Sports Resort) when i have 10, how do i fix this? i used WiiBackupManager to transfer the files from my computer to my USB

EDIT: nevermind, it just fixed itself when i was messing with the settings
