Gaming USB Port Problem HP DV6-3033

Hi guys, I have a single USB port on my laptop which doesnt work. It has power but nothing happens, I have reinstalled all USB Root Hub and have tried using windows 7 and linux livecd.

I have tried with many different devices and they all work on the other ports. Things like portable HDDs spin and usb thumb drives with lights glow.

I cannot remember if it ever worked. I brought this laptop recently so it is obviously in warranty and I can probably contact the store I brought it from.

Any ideas?

ok, I ran sfc /scannow and nothing. Didnt expect anything but no reason not to try.

Most likely a bad port I would get it repaired.

ok, I got it from a PCWorld retail store. I'll see what they can do.
